2020? My God. Nice handling of this investment.

better to get out of the way now at 23 rather than 28 with free agency coming up

Glad the White Sox passed on him.

They'd have kept him away from surgery.

Just like they did with Sale to the dismay of the Cubs fans who constantly predicted it.

Ohtani isn't making much. His hope was to tear it up and make his dough through arbitration. That isn't going to happen now.

It still isn't a for sure surgery. He could still opt to see how the platelets injection works and just play sans pitching.

will he be able to hit and play DH before then?

The Angels, the home of shitty contracts since Free Agency began in the 1970s.

A link with the video of the initial report. Looks like no on DH as well. Angels season not so promising anymore.

It was dumb to make him a two way player to begin with.

I agree. If you can hit, then hit. Pitching is gonna get you injured when you throw that hard or when you throw a ton of breaking balls.

Yeah, but pitching is cool. Besides, he wasn't going to sign unless he had the opportunity to be a two wayer.

He pulled a Hugh Downs and won't be back until 2020. BTW, Hugh Downs is alive and well at the young age of 97.

He was better than anticipated, the guy can hit and pitch.

Clearly his rigaments couldn't handle it

And now he's hurt. They said the impact of a MLB swing on the elbow is about 1/3 of a pitch. So three swings of a bat equals 1 MLB pitch. 140 PA's, 4-5 swings per PA? It's something to ponder.
