who the fuck does Rich Hill think he is to talk back at the President like that? Guess what? When the President talks, YOU LISTEN!!! You know why? Because Dave Roberts aborted a great performance by his BEST postseason pitcher (that's right, its not Kershaw) the last few years, because of some stupid analytics? Fuck analytics! It truly is a sad day in baseball when its perfectly ok to fuck up the momentum of your pitcher and your team because of some nerd in an office. The point of this thread is this: Why was Lou Piniella roundly roasted in 2007 for pulling an effective starter in favor of Marmol who promptly lost the game for the team? Pulled him because he wanted to "save him" for a later game in the series that never happened. Yet now, how dare we criticize Roberts (and many other managers for that matter) for pulling starters too early because "our bullpens" are awesome. FUCK DAVE ROBERTS FOR FUCKING UP HIS TEAM'S CHANCES IN THE POSTSEASON. |

During game 4 when Roberts put the closer in for the 8th inning....I immediately thought of the great Joe Maddon and being smarter than everyone else in baseball. Your closer pitches the 9th inning. Why do these morons complicate things? |
