Back in the old days of the Score, I remember guys would call up with names like "Dave from Winfield" or "Jack from Morris."

Ryan stuff starts at about 7:30. Worth watching!

Winfield was cool. He paid for 50 poor and hard-working (I forgot what the official descriptors were) kids to go to the '83 All-Star Game at Comiskey, and apparently did it every year. It was basically me, one other white kid, and 48 black and Latino kids. An AL ass-kicking, too.

The only bad part was that the Tribune ran it, so our chaperones were all of these fat, nasally, North Suburban Trib workers who hated the AL.
