so as usual every year I look at every playoff team and try to apply the ex-Cub factor. You have 3 ex-Cubs or more on your team, you NEVER win the World Series. Only exception is the 2004 Red Sox.

So I'm lookin at the Yankees this year and they have DJ and Chapman. That's two. Then they have Gleyber Torres, but does he count? He never was techincally a major league Cub. In fact, very far down in the minor leagues.

Also Larry Rothschild is the pitching coach. But he is not a player. So wondering if this counts.

So what do u think? You think the ex-Cub factor applies to these Yankees?

One thing that you can say, unlike the rest of history, is all these ex-Cubs are damn good players.

You look at every other playoff team, I dont think there's one ex-Cub on any of 'em.

well now that the Yankees were eliminated we can revisit this.

Funny how an ex-Cub tied the game in the 9th, and then another ex-Cub was "cubbed" in the 9th.

Negated each other. However, with only 2 ex-Cub players, I'll say the ex-Cub factor wasnt at work here.

Anybody else have any fuckin analysis on this?

The ex-Cub factor in this World Series really doesnt apply, as neither team has 3 ex-Cubs.

However, the Astros DO have one ex-Cub, Robinson Chirinos.

They traded him to Tampa as parta the Garza deal.

ETA: Also, the Astros have Hector Rondon.

The Nationals have no ex-Cubs.
EDIT: They do have one: Fernando Rodney or some shit.

So does that mean the Astros will lose?

EDIT: I take that back. The Nationals DO have one ex-Cub: Fernando fuckin Rodney.

Am I missing anybody else? So that's one for the Nats, 2 for the Astros. As far as I know, Luis Valbuena aint on the 'Stros anymore.
