so this is at the old Busch Stadium.

It's hard to tell but it looks like grass.

Did they have the artificial turf atthis time?

If not, when was it put in?

Dodgers vs Yankees, 1978 World Series on NOW on MLB Network.

It's color TV.

Doesn't feel dated at all. The players seem just as competitive, the crowd is very raucous and into it.

Feels like normal.

Cubs vs Indians, GAME 7, on FS1, TONIGHT at 8PM.

in the '70s.

Also Kubek and Garagiola on the call.

Post subject:  Re: Coronavirus Proramming

boy these 2 teams are heavyweights.

Star players and legends up and down both teams.

Reds vs BoSox World Series.

Didnt know Pete Rose played 3rd base either.

You know for all the talk of the Red Sox World Series drought pre-2004, it's not like they never contended. They were in some World Series and had a lot of legendary players. They were never as futile as the Cubs pre-2003.

Post subject:  Re: Coronavirus Proramming

wow!

what an amazing double play in the bottom of the 9th!

George Foster catches a foul ball in deep left field and then throws the runner out tagging from 3rd base going home.

Keeps the game at 6-6 and now on to extra innings.

1976 World Series, what a great game.

Funny to see Sparky Anderson, white-haired even then.

And didnt know Don Zimmer (#34) was a 3rd base coach for the Red Sox. He was the one that sent the runner, and it was an omen for his days with the Cubs as the runner was thrown out at home

Post subject:  Re: Coronavirus Proramming

this was unbelievable.

So Fisk ended it in the 12th on his HR.

But I never knew so many things:
-this HR was in Game 6 of the World Series
-this was in extra innings

This has to be one of the greatest W.S. games ever. Right up there with some of the Braves-Twins classics such as Game 7. Unbelievable. SO many great plays.

Anyway, Don Gullett to start Game 7. I remember him as the Reds pitching coach. Never knew he was a Game 7 starter.

Also neat to see Fisk's on-field interview with Kubek after the game. He was a very articulate friendly guy. Always thought he was sort of a tight to the vest man of few words. But not the case.

Dodgers @ Giants 2013.

A night game.

This has a baby-faced Kershaw and also a chance to hear Vin Scully on the call.

Post subject:  Re: Coronavirus Proramming

they showed a Randy Johnson 20K game today on MLBN.

it was a great game besides that though. Mark Grace tied it with a 2 run double in the 11th, and the D-Backs won on a bases loaded walk.

Wow.

Post subject:  Re: Coronavirus Proramming

they had no hitter night on mlbn last night.

i saw fernando's No No in 1990. I thought it was a typo when I saw 1990. Didnt think he pitched that long but he played 17 years all the way to 1997. Impressive career.
