40 games in division. 20 games outside division. Cubs and Sox get games still. Is there expanded playoffs? |

"Because MLB and the union could not reach agreement on length of season, one of the sweeteners to add revenue for the 30 owners – expanding the playoff field from 10 to 16 teams – was not enacted. So it will be business as usual come September-October – two wild cards and five teams per league." |

Universal DH for both leagues. Owners want to revert back for next season? Yeah, no way that's happening once the cat's out of the bag. Man on second to start the 10th will be weird. |

I’m excited baseball is back. A 162 game season is too damn long so this will be a nice change. In any regular year, you get a feel for who’s playing the best baseball by the end of June. 60 games is good enough to figure that out. It’s going to be weird seeing the Cy Young go to an 8 or 9 game winner. And it will be something, if fans still aren’t allowed once the playoffs start, watching the World Series with no fans in attendance. |

This should be a good test on the theory that NFL is only more popular because they play less games and they matter more. |

I'd like to see a 120 game season as the new format, start in May and finish the first week of September. I think Degrom won a CY with 9 wins a few years back. This season should be fun, every game is import and 60 games is 66 days is a lot of action. |

Rozner put the majority of the blame on the players in this round of silliness in his column today. |

It’s just the contrarian in him. I still love his intense hatred of Selig, and it drives him mad that Selig is in the hall of fame. |

It would be better just to play a couple extra innings and then end in a tie. |

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see it happening. Covid outbreaks will shut it down if it ever gets started. |

I am excited about the White Sox for the first time in like a decade. |

I'm looking forward to it, but right now my enthusiasm is muted until they get to the week before the season start. Let's see how many players out of about 1500 turn up positive but asymptomatic this week. My over/under is 75. I'm hoping that the Cubs can package a AA prospect not on the 60-man with Descalso Blackhawks style and ship him to Baltimore or Detroit once they know that they have enough healthy middle infielders. |
