I dont understand why they have these new rules. What do they have to do with Covid? -DH in NL (I actually dont mind this as I love the DH) -each extra inning starts with a man on second? WTF? -With no minor leagues, where are teams gonna get replacement players? -why are so many guys wearing masks in the dugout. Is it required? I mean, fuck, dont they get tested before every game? Why is a solitary cameraman down the 3rd base line wearing a mask on a hot day? Sure, have one handy, but why have it draped over your face with no one around? |

They are trying to prevent pitchers from being overworked or injured (as they might be in short supply with COVID), so having DH eliminates one source of injury. Putting a runner on 2nd in extra innings saves pitching staffs from marathon games (in theory, as teams should usually score in that scenario). |
