That would have to be some kind of record .230/.302/.454. Despite the defensive metrics.

It's a 2 man race in the AL with 10 days to go..

Crowenworth or Lewis

Who cares about ROY for Lou Bob. The bigger questions are will he continue to struggle in the playoffs? Has the league figured him out? Not much time for him to make adjustments in this shortened season.

Cronenworth is a Padre. He used to be in the Rays organization but got included in the Tommy Pham deal because he was blocked in Tampa.

"They" gave it to a Cub in 1962 with a .260/ .290/ .346 slashline, to go along with a league-leading 129 strikeouts. So there is at least some precedent in doing so with strong defensive metrics.

Didn't realize he left Tampa.. Sounded like he was a can't miss prospect.

Bryant delivered early, Roy and MVP with a ring in under 3 seasons.. He's just soft as shit and his swing is way too long.

I saw him play at Durham. Great hitter but his defense wasn't good enough to stick at short in the big leagues. He has a chance to become a Zobrist like guy who plays primarily 2B but can also play LF/RF/1B.

The other guy to watch from that team was Mike Brosseau, who got promoted to Tampa late last year. More of a platoon power guy, he and Jake split SS in Durham but Brosseau profiles more as a traditional utility 5th IF.

I blame getting hit in the head. Look what it did to Heyward. If it even slightly affects your vision and your ability to pick up spin, that could be enough to fuck your career.

Yes, I have said this multiple times in the Cubs threads. He was never the same after he got hit. Sosa, Dawson they all lost something after they got hit.

Wasn't the beginning of the end for Sosa getting hit in the coconut?

dont forget he hurt his little finger in 2017 sliding into 3rd at balitmore. instead of putting him on the dl they let him play where he had to change his swing to account for his injury to his hand.

Exactly, imagine how good our Guy Rodgers would have been if he had stayed with Kevin.

Yeah Shane Bieber with almost 1/3 of the total Clev. win total himself. Crazy low ERA, K’s off the chart.

I thought I was the only one to see how obvious a call it would be to give him the MVP.

there should be an analysis of guys who were hit in the head with a baseball pre and post hit. This is a real thing.

Heyward still pulls off the ball. He's just not the same guy anymore. Sosa wasn't either, and he was clearly still juicing, in my opinion. This article disagrees with me though:

https://tht.fangraphs.com/the-three-dec ... ammy-sosa/

You can visibly see a guy who pulls off the ball, doesn't stay on it.

Rookies hitting the wall after 40 games isn't new, not having another 120 games to work it out, is.
