This guy turned down a contract and bet on himself, having a monster season. 40 doubles 43 Homer's and over 100 rbi..he's going to get a huge contract. |

With Tatis and Semien and all of the current White Sox players it is clear that the White Sox are a world class organization in identifying elite talent. |

I'm more mad about giving up Cease. |

See that’s the kind of year you have when you’re chasing free agent dollars. Not Kris Bryant’s “ return to form I’m finally healthy “ of .266 25HR 70 RBI now pay me big bucks campaign |

Brock for Brogolio, etc. The Quintana comp is valid, but the Sox were further away from true contention and picking up Shields and Samardjia (IMO) weren't anything that most would think pushed them into elite area. it was a stupid trade. it still hurts. While the Quintana trade was stupid, the Cubs were closer, but definitely trending downward and most of us Sox fans scratched our heads and said...."COOL! You can have Quintana!" |

What exactly were the White Sox "close" to winning in 2014? 3rd place in the AL Central? |

I had never really thought that maybe the White Sox plan to contend in 2014 was misguided until this exact post. |

Trading Tatis Jr as a teenager was fine. He was a lottery ticket and that point, and the Padres hit it big. It happens. Acquiring Sheilds was terrible. An aside, the Padres were eliminated from playoff contention a few days ago |

I read something that made it sound like Machado was pissed at Tatis free swinging at everything to try and make individual stats and it was hurting the team. But Machado is the ultimate team player, right? |

He's going to be 32. I don't think he will get some monster contract. Maybe 3 years and $75 million. |
