If you had 120, you wouldn't have all these injuries, dopey lineups, and playing in terrible weather.

With the proposal of 14 playoff teams, 162 games is ridiculous and obsolete.

120 games would be ideal. Unfortunately, no sport / team would absorb the revenue cut from the 42 games lost.

I suspect if you ran the postseason the right way, you could make that up and then some.

if we just played Strat-o-matic, nobody would ever get hurt and we could all rest easier knowing that these guys are safe.

Somebody better wake up to the fact that no one is watching. Not only is baseball dying, regional tV contracts are also. An inordinate amount of revenue is switching over to playoffs.

Agreed. 162 is meaningless now. If they're playing 162, four playoff teams max in each league.

With 14 playoff teams, 100 games would even be alright.

you'd also have have much better crowds for the mid revenue clubs and below.

No argument from me, but they won't consider the big picture and overall health of the game / league.

Short term, immediate loss of revenue from TV contract would take a huge hit. Of course there's a way to counter that with playoffs, but they won't see it.

Baseball loves its records. Truncating the season at 120 games would really wreak havoc with those records. We don't need 162 games a year, but I would like to see them go down to 150 rather than 120.

Except if you roll a 1, 2 or 3 and a 2 or 12, generally.

Eloy probably has his injury on a 3 and a 7.

A dying sport in the open air or a warehouse doesn't really make a difference.
