I'm not breaking any news here, but those inside the park homeruns are almost always born from a defensive miscue. |

I always enjoy inside the park home runs. Usually a speedster blazing on the base paths with precision cuts on the bases. Paul Skenes' pitching motion not bending his back (at times) and awkwardly landing puts a lot of stress on his arm. |

I truly hate the right foot swing. Cease and Peavy, for example. It's a sign you are fighting your downhill momentum. The first thing you should think about with pitching is WHY you are on a hill. |

Baseball has created a huge problem with pitchers injuries. Velocity stressed, 100 or less pitch count and pulled, dragged out IL stints with the slightest injury, guaranteed contracts. Doesn't appear to be a solution with so many contributing factors. |

https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2024/05/ ... casts.html MLB is coming to Roku, no subscription required. Granted, it's one game on Sunday, but I like that they're trying to build the brand rather than hide content behind a pay wall. |

Got an email from MLB.TV. $69 gets you the rest of the year. I'd say there's panic brewing. A poll of 18-29 yr olds had 7% for baseball being their favorite sport to watch. |

Yeah, but Watching Other People Play Fortnite won that poll with 60% of the vote. Remove likely nerds from the sample and baseball is just fine. |

It's going to be interesting to see where MLB lands over the next 30 years. If it's lucky, it will be like the NHL. If it's unlucky, it will be something like professional tennis. |

The Giants v. Cardinals game at Rickwood Field last night was pretty cool. They televised a half inning in black and white with old timey graphics and different camera angles. |

The game was good and the way they broadcast it was cool. But the pregame stuff took forever and was way overblown. Enjoyed seeing some of the old timers from the Negro league, but could do without the 87 songs played by some band that was not very good. |

I cant remember what year exactly and not sure if it was a Fox broadcast or WGN, but they did the game starting with the basic broadcast style of games first on tv and each inning it would change to the next improved iteration, eventually reaching the current style at the time. It was cool to see, black and white, picture quality, no on screen stuff and then eventually color, minimal additions like player name and then the innings/runners on/score etc and better definition |

It was neat to see how far broadcasts have come. Especially the center field camera instead of the overhead view from behind home plate. |

The home run derby is on and it’s on the list of things that used to be fun but now kind of suck. |

MLB Network showing Back To School during the HR Derby is a nice touch. |

Interesting. How do you sing the national anthem drunk and not slur any words or forget words or something like that? I wish her well in her recovery, but that did not come off as a drunk performance. |
