Yeah, this was being reported last night, and I think Barry Bonds broke it on his website.

I wonder if he'll get another chance on some AL team as a DH though I hope we have seen him for the last time.

Trust me, I'm sure there are a bunch of AL teams counting the hours until the offseason begins so they can talk to him. I agree, I'd like to see him gone but he'll be in an AL ballpark near you next year.

Yeah thats pretty much guaranteed I think. He will sell tickets and bottom line is he is still a productive player, and he wants to play next year so I think it will happen.

If I were betting on it, I'd say you'd be correct. All it takes is one team willing to sign the guy.

I will put my money on Baltimore. They have some up and coming youngsters that could make them interesting in a year or two. Bonds would draw the curious fans for a year to pump the coffers full. Besides Peter Angelos has already shown he has no soul or shame, but he does have a ton of dough. Bonds could hit 50 easily in that bandbox as a DH.

Should this thread be SF kicks Barry out?

Subhead: "Circus to pull up stakes. Fans start to speak of rebuilding team without anvil in left field."

He'll want to stay on the west coast & maybe contend.
Look for the Angels to take a flier & the M's to kick the tires.

I've read a few times that the Angels won't be interested because they don't sign guys with questionable attitudes....Teams like KC/Florida seem to be more likely than actual contenders, but we shall see.

I think if ARod leaves the Evil Empire, they will make a big play for Bonds, and for once, Boston won't try to counter it, since they already have the best DH in baseball.

The Yanks have two things Bonds would desire: $$$$ & a great shot at a World Series.
