Post subject:  Where are the games?

A few years ago I remember ESPN would show games on the last day of the regular season which affected the playoff race.

Today you had the Mets game, Phillie game, Padre game and Col-Arizona. All big games. But nothing on ESPN.

They no longer shows games on the Fourth of July or Labor Day. And nothing today.

I can guess the reason why, want people to buy the baseball package. But great playoff races were decided today, win or go home. But I couldn't watch (and after the Bears game today I needed a diversion). Baseball and/or ESPN dropped the ball.

Baseball is, by far, the sport I have always loved the most. I also searched without success for a ballgame today (besides the local clubs), and I am extraordinarily saddened.

According to Curious Hair, in the Cubs section, Major League Baseball has mandated high-school-like pep rallies for all playoff clubs. Perhaps Bud Selig's time would have been better spent figuring out a way to let fans across the country watch any one of several meaningful games on this fascinating last day of the regular season.

I am glad to see I am not the only one disappointed by the lack of coverage. Even though it was a football Sunday, there were a couple huge baseball games some of us would have liked to see. I guess I am going to have to go back to the baseball package next year.
