http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=3128273 No sure things this year. It might be the year for some holdovers to get in. Gossage? Rice? The Hawk? The Shuwon-o-meter? Thoughts? I've always thought Dawson was a hall of famer, and Gossage put up some pretty sick numbers when being a closer meant actually pitching more than one inning. |

The only major flaw I can find on Dawson is that he stunk it up in limited post-season play. |

This might be another year with no one, but I'd guess Gossage gets in. He's been steadily increasing his voting share and just missed last year. |

so did frank thomas, but he's a first ballot HOF'er. i know frank was better than dawson, but both are HOF'ers |

The Goose has to get in this year (or he should be removed from consideration w/the rest) and well, Jim Rice will get in because in this all Boston year, the Boston voters hearts will have thawed and they will finally vote the right way. Dawson, Raines, yes, if their best years were anywhere but in Montreal. Hell, even in Montreal the HOF votes would probably still go to Rusty Staub, Warren Cromartie and Gary Carter (even though he's in). |
