...the AL East or the NL Central ?

The AL East, because I don't see the Cards hanging around and I think the Rays will, plus the Yankees will get hot at some point. Even the Ble Jays are pretty good. Houston is falling back, Milwaukee has scuffled (still see them finishing 2nd though) and the Cards are due to collapse.

I agree. I am involved in a discussion with some retarded Brewers fans, who say the NL Central is better, solely based on record. They really think they could beat Toronto in a seven game series. I think the Jays pitching shuts them down.

The NL Central may be more competitive, but the AL East is better. While the Rays probably wont end up winning 95 games, they are for real. The Yanks could turn it on again in the 2nd half like they did last year and snag the Wild Card. Boston is the defending World Champs for a reason. The jays probably wont make the playoffs, but they are a pretty good club.

Cubs are good. Cards are in this til the end. Before its all said and done, the Astros and Brewers will make a little noise. The Reds and Pirates suck. Plus, its the NL. Its harder to pitch in the AL Because of the DH, and there's some pretty good hitters in that AL East that are primarily DHs.

agreed: AL East. Baltimore or NYY would look a whole lot tougher in the NL Central.

After the top two, I wouldn't defend the NL Central based on its records.

There's three middling teams staying above water by playing .500 against each other (check out the home/road splits for the Brewers, Astros, and Pirates).

Then there's the Reds, whose record is inflated by a good road record against the likes of the Indians and Padres. Check back in two weeks after their current East Coast trip.

The AL East, Central and West are all better than the NL Central. The Cubs will win that division by double digits with the second place team fighting for a .500 record.

Pitching in the NL sucks. Chipper's going to make a serious run at .400 facing these jokers every night.
