Sorry about the non-specificity, but I figured I'd post it because I found it interesting. It comes from someone who has told me reliable stuff before ahead of the curve, so I have no real reason to disbelieve him (plus he was a witness, sort of.)

There's a guy I know secondhand (I've met him a couple of times, but I'm not close friends with him) who was a minor-leaguer up until a year or so ago. He's mid to late twenties, and he was roommates with a current major league pitcher who's name you'd recognize. Anyway, that pitcher enjoys the occasional smoke, and I'm not talking about tobacco. When he got up to the majors, he was brought into his manager's office (you'd recognize the manager's name, too.) The manager asked him if he did pot, and he said that he occasionally did. The manager asked him where he got it from, whether he was getting it on the street or whatever, and the pitcher said that he knew a guy, etc. The manager told him to stop buying it, because he'd make sure that he was supplied in a way that no one would ever find out about it. The player was so surprised that he told his ex-roommate.

Like I said, you'd know all the names involved in the story, except for the minor-leaguer. He's told me stuff before that turned out to be true, so I have no real reason to doubt him. Take it for what it's worth, but I found it interesting.

I know a guy who knows a guy whose cousin's best friend's college roomate heard from his sister-inlaw's boyfriend who heard from his aunt's-stepsister-twice-removed that this story is an actual fact. If you don't believe it, I've got a friend-of-a-friend who will back it up.
