Fans, while baseball season has ended prematurely for the Cubs & White Sox, the playoffs resume tonight in Philadelphia as the Phillies host the red hot Dodgers in Game 1 of the National League Championship Series at Citizens Bank Park. Derek Lowe, who won Game 1 of the three game Dodger sweep vs. the Cubs, faces Cole Hamels, winner of Game 1 of their NLDS vs. the Brewers. There's already quite a storyline developing, and it involves "you know who". Manny Ramirez, who smacked 2 homers for the Dodgers in the NLDS, was on the receiving end of criticism by FOX Sports' MLB analyst Tim McCarver yesterday. McCarver took exception to Manny's behavior while wearing the Red Sox uniform calling it "despicable", in interviews he had with the Philadelphia Inquirer and late last night on "The NEW Dan Patrick Show". One thing's for sure, fans. While I'm not a fan of Manny's shtick, the guy is money in the bank this time of the year, and he's definitely playing for a big payday when free agency comes around.

Derek Lowe is dealing once again tonight, and Manny Ramirez missed a homer in the 1st inning in Game 1 of this series, which the Dodgers lead 2-0 in the bottom 5th in Philadelphia. I think the Dodgers have so much momentum right now, that I predict they'll win this series in 6.

Lowe has hit a wall in the last 2 innings.

My money is on Brad Lidge wetting the bed. He has to be thinking about his 05 meltdown.

Game 1 was a well pitched game, and the homers that Chase Utley & Pat Burrell hit last night were enough to give the Phillies a 1-0 series lead with Game 2 late this afternoon at CitizensBank Park...Chad Billingsley & Brett Myers are the starters at about 3:35p...

That Nomar at bat to end the game was really bad. One of the worst at bats i've seen all season. I don't get why the Dodger hitters didn't take till they got a strike. Lidge sucks, every slider was in the dirt or a foot off the plate.

Uh-huh. Those 46 out of 46 saves converted are all a fluke.

This is the life of a Cub fan: The deck of five aces on the Dodgers can actually be tagged! The Dodgers can actually ground out without the defense kicking the ball. And, "God forbid," a team can actually come back and regain a lead against the LA nine. Fucking Cubs. Damn them all to hell. And I still would have hit "Fanny" in the earflap near the end of game one in the NLDS. I know it's childish, but it would at least have given me a postseason memory.

Really hate when umpires give out warnings. Let the teams police themselves and go at it.

Well at least 1 team can score off the Dodger bullpen. That was a bomb Stairs hit off fat ass Broxton.

Wonder how Maddux feels being a mop up man in the bullpen.

When the Phillies finished off the Brewers in Game 4 of the NLDS in Milwaukee, Jimmy Rollins homered to start that game. He did it again tonight in Game 5 at Dodger Stadium of the NLCS. Coincidence?

No. He's a leadoff guy who's got power and worked himself into a full count-- knew a fastball was coming.
