According to ESPN's Tim Kurkjian, he feels that "Moose" Mussina is Hall-of-Fame worthy, and I think the hard throwing righty will also be Cooperstown-bound. |

Blyleven's issue is the overall record stinks. 287 wins are nice, but his career winning pct is .534 (he's got 250 losses). And he never won a Cy Young. Gaylord perry is in the hall with over 300 wins but a similar win percentage. He's probably in mostly because he's got 2 Cy Youngs. Don Sutton is similar and he got to that 300 number as well. |

We've has this discussion before in this forum over Schilling. Blyleven should not be punished because he pitched on a bunch of shitty teams before the era of free agency. His numbers are definetly HOF worthy, and its not his fault his crap offenses couldn't give him any more run support and thus, more career victories. |

Based on others that haven't made it I say no. But since he's been a Yankee for a few years, I'll give him a maybe. Above average + play for the Yankees = HOFer |

Back to Tim Kurkjian for a second, Vince...One thing in Mussina's favor is his winning percentage for his career, and I thought I heard 62%, which is good. He's the first pitcher to retire after recording a 20-win season since Sandy Koufax did so before my time in 1966 for the Dodgers. Sandy, oh by the way, is a Hall-of-Famer. |
