While we here in Chicago are paying our respects to the deaths of both Norm Van Lier & Johnny "Red" Kerr, Manny Ramirez & agent Scott Bora$ have done it again! Less than a day after the Los Angeles Dodgers offered what seemed to be an incentive-filled deal that was believed to be 1 year, $25 million with a $20 million option for 2010, Manny & Scott have once again rejected the Dodger offer. While Dodgers' management has been confident that they'll re-sign the veteran left fielder, this is the third offer that Ramirez & Bora$ have turned down from Los Angeles. I'm not sure what it'll take to Manny to sign on the dotted line, but if he & Bora$ think they'll get $100 million in the midsts of a recession, think again. The question isn't whether he'll sign, but when this hot dog will take his ball & his millions and quit on his team, just like when he thumbed his nose at the Boston Red Sox before trading his ass to L.A. last summer at the trading deadline. Besides, if I wanted a hot dog, I'd go to Franksville or Yo-Joes in my neighborhood.

If you put on any of the ESPNs and/or MLB Network, "Manny Watch" is nonstop, even after he FINALLY signs on the dotted line... Just ask ESPN's Pedro Gomez...

Reports say he declined because too much money is deferred. This cocksucker is coming off a $160 mil deal. He already has more money than he'll ever be able to spend why the fuck does he care how much is deferred?? This belongs in the douchebag section.

Couldn't agree more - I know that there's no way in hell that it'll happen, but it'd be great if no team sign him and he was forced to watch this season from the couch just to teach this prick a lesson - Then again, he'll still be watching it from one of his palatial estates and he'll be able to sit and count money that most people can only dream of...

Funny, I feel exactly the same about McCourt.
I hope Manny goes to the Giants on principal alone, the Dodgers miss out on the playoffs, and their attendence and revenue drop.
A greedy prick billionare owner trying to delay the payout of $25 mil without any interest doesn't deserve any more public support than a greedy prick millionaire player.

They both suck.

If the Giants or any other team were willing to do that they would have already signed Manny. McCourt (the greedy prick billionare) has the best offer on the table but Manny and Borass don't like it. Boo-Hoo.

I got quite a laugh when you typed Manny and principle in the same sentence.

I'm not a fan of Manny in the very least.
The guy's contribution to the human race is that when he feels like it, he can hit a ball with the best of them.
I'm just pointing out that you seem to forget that the Red Sox paid Manny's contract last year. So it seems to me that the Dodgers got themselves a Bentley at an auction, and now want you to feel sorry for tham about the cost of gas.

Actually, the ideal resolution to this is the Dodgers paying Manny less than he wants, and he giving them a 120 games at 75% effort for the next couple years.
They deserve each other.
