These things happen in threes. BOSTON -- Former major league pitcher Mark Fidrych, known for his colorful antics on the mound and a career that wnt from the top to the bottom very quickly, has been found dead beneath his pickup truck at his Northborough, Mass., home. Boston.com is reporting that the 54-yeard-ild Fidrych was killed while working on his truck. More details to come. -- Associated Press |

What is the world comming to? Fidrych was awesome...thought there would be a huge thread about him...I know NFL films and 70s era porn are great...but so was the Bird!!!  p.s. all 3 of these people reached the top of their professions...supercup has bad taste...he's kinda like the dental cup you spit into and then throw away. |

I was a small boy when Mark Fidrych was a dominating righty for the Detroit Tigers in 1976, and if memory serves, he went 19-9 in his rookie season. He only won 29 games in a career shortened by knee & shoulder problems, but he was quite a character when he played... |
