Once again, I love these caps...I liked last years with the dark blue better, but these are still cool.

One thing I'm wondering though is about the Cleveland caps...last year, they had the Indian head logo with the special treatment, but this year it's a generic looking C instead...I remember speculating here that it would cause an uproar but I don't remember ever hearing one...was there?

It appears as if there's a political uproar over "Chief Wahoo" among native Americans which may explain why the Indians sported the red caps with the "C" in stars & stripes today vs. the Tampa Bay Rays at (Not So) Progressive Field. Then again, the Indians have sported a throwback alternate home uniform for weekend games the last couple years. They look a lot like the ones they wore in the late '70s to early '80s...

These hats are horrible. Scrap the flag inside the logo design and use a camouflodge hat or something. The current hat looks like cheap little league hat.

I didn't care for the special navy blue caps w/the stars & stripes last year, and I could care less about the special red hats EVERY TEAM, including the umpires wore around the majors for Memorial Day. I've got the "MLB Extra Innings" package, and it looked very awkward for every team in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball, including the White Sox, Cubs, Yankees & Mets, sporting the special red caps with the team's logo in the stars & stripes. I went online, just to see a closeup of these special caps, and they cost $36.99 on the teams' respective Web sites, but proceeds are supposed to help out Veterans as far as I know. The Padres did sport the camouflage uniforms Sunday vs. the Cubs at Petco Park, but I don't know yet if the White Sox will do the same later this season. They're on the road in Kansas City this 4th of July, which is when the Sox sported theirs a year ago.

They stuck out and you went on the website to check 'em out. I'd say their plan worked!

The plan only worked if he placed an order for the hat.

That, or he goes on a message board and advertises them, the cost and the benefit to veterans.

The general consensus seems to be that most people hate these hats.
The best pllan for a successful product is to have a product that people like.

So because he didn't buy the hat, it was a failure? Really, are you the Dan Bernstein of sales?

Thank goodness for this thread ... I thought the caps looked out of place and were simply a shallow "tip of the hat" (amiright?) to the whole post-911 gutted and perverted notion of patriotism. Good to know there might be at least a dozen people who will join me in the re-education camps. :bom:

I predict you'll see these special caps again on Fourth of July weekend & on Labor Day all over Bud Selig's Major League Baseball...
