Len and Bob mentioned this earlier and I looked the game stats up online and Albert Pujols is listed with a Sac Fly that scored 2 runs in their game vs. the Rockies. How is that possible?

Well, that's something I've never seen...my only guess would be a diving catch...but even then,I would think the guy on second wouldn't have been tagging...

If you click on video, you can see a thumbnail for each play...seeing as it shows one guy on the ground and another standing next to him, either the guy got hurt diving for the ball or they collided after the catch...

Googled it and I got this from last June

In the fifth, Mauer drove in two runs with one sacrifice fly -- the first such feat in the majors in more than seven years -- to bring his team within one against Daniel Cabrera (5-2).

With runners at second and third and one out, Mauer sent a drive to the warning track that center fielder Adam Jones tracked down in the gap. Jones slipped as he tried to throw, however, and Carlos Gomez kept racing around the bases to score with ease.

So, I guess I can add "fielder slips" to the list of ways this could happen...

Here ya go...

http://www.stltoday.com/blogzone/commishs-hot-stove/commishs-hot-stove/cardinal-beat-updates/2009/06/pujols-delivers-two-runs-with-sacrifice-fly/

The St. Louis Cardinals have been laboring with men in scoring position lately, with only six hits in their last 46 at-bats in such situations. And in the first inning today at Busch Stadium they failed to get a hit with men at second and third and nobody out. But Albert Pujols did the next best thing,

Pujols delivered a two-run sacrifice fly.

Skip Schumaker singled and Colby Rasmus, extending his hitting streak to six games, doubled to open the inning. Pujols then sent a fly ball to deep left center, where Colorado left fielder Carlos Gonzalez made the catch before banging into the wall and falling to the warning track. As he lay there, Gonzalez flipped the ball to center fielder Dexter Fowler but the speedy Rasmus alertly had tagged at second on the play and raced home behind Schumaker for the two-run sacrifice fly.

The last player believed to have driven in two runs with one fly ball was Minnesota’s Joe Mauer last year against Baltimore

So players often score from 2nd base on a Sac fly?

Alexei Ramirez scored from 2nd base on an AJ flyout last season. I don't remember if it was a 2 run or 1 run sac fly, but the Royals CF either dove or hit the wall, but Alexei was at 2nd base and came around to score.

Walt, since you claim to be such a big Sox fan, you should have known this one right off. Again you prove what an asswipe you are. "It can be done!" Of course it can, anything "can" be done. What a stupid answer to a valid question.

Yep, here it is. It was a 2 run sac fly. Thumbs down to asswipe for not knowing this, and if Mauer's happened in June of '08, AJ's was more recent.

He might have. Amazing how 2 of the slowest guys in Sox history (Karko and Konerko), both have inside the park HRs on thier resumes.

walt, I remembered it. As you can see (that is, if you can read asswipe) my recollection of the event was not exactly has it happened. I did remember bits and pieces- it was AJ who hit it, to CF caught it, Alexei who scored, it happened in KC.

I googled "AJ Pierzynski 2 run sac fly" and found the box score to the game, and then Merkin's recap of the game.

For the record, I no longer have the woman and I ended it, not her. Stick to faxing M&H walt, you asswipe.
