Done Deal. The Indians send Cliff Lee and Ben Francisco to Philly and get: The Phillies will send pitchers Jason Knapp and Carlos Carrasco, shortstop Jason Donald and catcher Lou Marson to the Indians, an American League executive told CBSSports.com's Scott Miller. Knapp, a 6-foot-5, 18-year-old right-hander currently pitching in Class A, is considered the key player in the deal. Sounds like the price for Halladay is a bit too high for anyone other than the Yanks, Angels or Red Sox. |

The Blue Jays' "deadline" for trading Roy Halladay has come and gone, and Roy's still North of the Border, eh? Toronto's General Manager was hoping to get a deal done yesterday, but unless they lower the asking price considerably, Halladay's not going anywhere. Why does this remind me so much of what the Orioles were asking for second baseman Brian Roberts before Baltimore ended up re-signing him? I think it's the same deal here with Halladay and the Jays not getting fair value for one of the most dominating right-handers in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball right now. |

Shark, I think even Toronto realizes that Halladay's contract as it stands today and certainly through next year is one of the best bargains in baseball. Why they are in any rush to get rid of him and rebuild is beyond me. Do the smart thing - lock this guy up for the next 4 years at 18 Mill and it will be the best 72 million ever spent. All this guy does is go out and pitch 8 or 9 innings every time out. Why would you be in such a rush to trade that away? |

Dave, you tell me. The Blue Jays aren't going anywhere again this year, and they want to go into a different direction. Speaking of pitchers, cross the name Dan Haren off the list, too. The Diamondbacks have taken their right-hander off the market as well, even though they're going nowhere either. As far as Cliff Lee, FOXSports.com's Ken Rosenthal said on the "FOX Saturday Pre-Game" last Saturday afternoon that Lee was hoping to get a contract extension right after he won the A.L. Cy Young Award for another miserable Indians' team and they refused. |

Seems like the Phillies would be the WS favorites now, especially considering Lee's numbers should be even better going to the NL. |

Favre - yeah, that's what I was thinking too but didn't want to mention it. It certainly gives them a more than formidable 1-2 punch in Hamels and Lee now. |

I remember for the first few months he was pitching like shit... I'm shocked that the phils kept on to their top prospect, kudos to them... |

Cross, Hamels was hurt to start the season but over the last month I am pretty sure he has a sub 3.5 ERA. |

phillies are easily the favorite in the NL now. their pitching was patchwork but now they have a definitive ace. that lineup is already deadly. |
