Had a chance to watch a lot of this network while on vacation last week. I was very impressed. The "MLB Tonight" show was much more indepth and entertaining than ESPN's Baseball Tonight.

The only drawback was that since "MLB Tonight" is not restricted to only an hour, they tend to spend much more time analyzing plays and teams, and also show cut-in live to crucial moments around the league. If you're time is limited and have to get to bed, you'll get everything you need from Baseball Tonight. I wasn't concerned with time last week and easily watched "MLB Tonight" for a solid two hours. I was hooked.

The motto for MLB Network is "Our National Pastime. All the Time". They definitely are, and my dad & I watch the channel on DIRECTV 213 from time to time, not just for comprehensive analysis, news & live look-ins, but they have ACTUAL GAMES for fans to enjoy, too. Right now, you could be watching the Red Sox/Rangers' game right now on MLBN if you don't have the "MLB Extra Innings" package. MLBN will have highlights of this game, plus all of today's games, homers, defensive gems, etc. afterwards on "Quick Pitch". Now, if you're looking for something to watch on Thursday afternoons, you can sit back, relax and watch day games involving pennant contenders, in addition to MLBN's "Thursday/Saturday Night Baseball". Also, if you ever wanted to see Tom Seaver's 300th career win with the White Sox from 1985 at Yankee Stadium, Kerry Wood's 20 K performance when the Cubs beat the Astros in 1998, plus other "All-Time Games" from the past, MLBN has it, too. Talk about a home run for baseball fans!

Agreed. The channel has excellent nightly coverage of the night's action.

MLB Network is AWESOME.

The nightly coverage is the best.

They even use old footage you'd never see on ESPN. When the Porcello-Youkalis thing happened they showed a clip of Shawon going after Joe Magrane (i think)

The Seasons show is really good...The old games are awesome. They showed Game 5 of 86 NLCS Gooden v Ryan...

I love it. It has replaced ESPN news as the channel i pretty much just leave on in the background.
