Went onto espn.com to check some baseball scores and they had a story on their mlb page about the resurgance of the Rangers under Ryan. The thing was the picture they used was shocking I did not realize just how old and weathered Ryan was looking these days. I couldn't pull the one they were using cause I certainly do not pay to be an "insider" whatever the hell that is. But here is a close approximation to the pic ![]() So I guess my questions are when did Nolan Ryan get so old? And could he still kick the crap out of Robin Ventura? |

He was throwing in the mid 90's while in his mid 40's. Do you think that was natural?? |

Didn't Jose Canseco allude to the fact that someone in the Hall was juicing? |

The guy is in his 60's now. He played until he was 46 or 47. I wouldn't expect him to look like most retired players who have only been out of the game for 10-15 years. |

Roids...no question. "Trained" with Clemens. I watched a game from 86...Ryan was hitting 96 regularly with 2 seamers... |

Because I'm "pretty sure" I remember the ball bouncing off of his head and going over the fence for a HR when he was a Ranger........ ![]() What I never understood was why the hell did Ventura run all the way out there just to give Ryan a big hug around his chest? What the hell was that? |

Not saying either way re: roids....but from my 20's to mid/late 30's i was lean too....and then not so much from late 30's on....unfortunately my weight gain wasn't/hasn't been muscle related so much... |
