6 innings, if he has a 5+ run lead. Save him for Game 7.

The Phillies season is on the line tonight, and the Yankees have the best offense in the game. If the Phillies pull Lee early, they run the risk of not even getting to game six, let alone game seven.

Yeah. good point. But, dayum, that bullpen is getting paid for something. Dance with the girl ya brought to the prom, Charlie. Hasn't Hamels pretty much thrown in the towel on pitching a Game 7, if there is one? It's a gamble. And, as Ozzie noted in the pre-game, Lidge was a pitch away from a 1-2-3 inning last night. And Lidge hadn't pitched in almost 2 weeks before last night. Durbin seems to do alright for an inning. Chan Ho Park? not so much. Maybe 7 innings then.

Manuel screwed up sending Lee back out for the 9th the other night, now he's screwing up again leaving Lee in too long.

I was thinking he'd be pulled after the 7th. In retrospect, that would have been best.

If Charlie Manuel's Phillies lose this Series, why Joe Blanton started Game 4 instead of Cliff Lee will certainly be second-guessed. Bob Costas was a guest this morning on "The Dan Patrick Show", and he believes that Lee has to pitch "at some point" in Game 7 if needed Thursday. Chances are, should the Phillies win tomorrow in Game 6, I've got to think Cole Hamels starts Thursday in the Bronx vs. the Yankees' C.C. Sabathia. This despite Hamels' less than great start in Game 3 last Saturday night in Philadelphia.

Not pulling Cliff Lee was criminally vulgar, or something.

Lee has never started on 3 days rest. Never. Why in the world would you try it for the first time in the World Series?

I don't believe he should have pulled him early. In a short series you win that game and worry about tomorrow tomorrow.
