Very impressed with this team, solid depth at starting pitcher, Jones clutch, Heyward better hitter than advertised, If Wagner keeps his shoulder in it's socket all year, you could see a true contender.

Relax man, they have only beaten the Cubs so far.

I've read a few different articles where's he has been compared to Albert Pulos, and some other all-time greats.

Heyward is a monster but I'm not sold on this Braves team. Glaus sucks, Kawakami sucks, Lowe is bad, Chipper will get hurt, Hudson is coming off Tommy John, Wagner and Saito are old and ouchy. They need to have a lot of things go right for them to make the playoffs this year.

The Braves are considered to be an "in" pick this season among many "experts" before the season, and some feel that retiring manager Bobby Cox may go out a winner in his last season filling out the lineup card.

Are they still considered America's Team? I remember in the early 80's with Joe Torre at some point that they were called so.

I'd say that the Yankees have taken that torch as of recent decades.

Maybe any team that has Joe Torre as a manager is automatically America's Team (I know, a Dodger now).

I still think the Cubs will win the central, and the Giants will take the west; but don't count out those Braves. They will be a great wild card team!

I'd like to see them face a decent team first. I dont think they will beat the Phillies, but they could be a WC contender.

If they are "America's Team" as TBS tagged the Atlanta Braves when they carried the bulk of their games nationally back in the '80s, no team has that label now in Bud Selig's Major League Baseball.

yeah, through 3 games who'd have guessed he'd already be smashing the ball at a .250 clip?

the only way he is going to be able to hit "better than advertised" this year would be to hit .400 with 40 homers and 150 rbi.

Didn't Randy Quaid play for them in the 80s?
