Obviously only two games played so far, so still really early. However, he's now 0-2 with NYY and has given up 12 ER in 11 IP. If you look at his past AL numbers this isnt a big shocker. Anyone still trying to make the argument that the NL isnt dramatically weaker than the AL?

Javy has been like that his whole career though. He get strikeouts, but he will throw a few clunkers as well. Wouldn't surprise me if his next 2 starts he has 15-17 Ks with an ERA around 2. That was his MO with the Sox (and the Braves to a certain extent).

I think somebody forgot to tell Javy that the new Yankee Stadium plays more like U.S. Cellular Field than what he pitched at Turner Field in Atlanta...The fact Vazquez's struggling in Yankee pinstripes now doesn't surprise me.

I don't think it's the AL being superior to the NL... in a manner of speaking. The AL East alone is vastly superior to every division with arguably the 3 best teams in baseball.

Give it some time..... but I'm not crying over Vazquez being Girardi's problem now..

No, but only because it's boring...

So you are going to use 3 starts to "prove" the NL is weaker than the AL?

Is this real life?

Yeah, he's in the AL East. That alone is going to be a rough transition. He's been a consistent 200 IP / 180 K pitcher for the better part of the last decade, though, and I figure he'll be about the same this season, too.

No, but the overwhelming evidence certainly supports it. Compare his numbers last year in the NL to his numbers the rest of his career. Compare the leagues head to head record. Look at guys like CC, Lee, etc. dominating in the NL. Matt Holiday. It's too easy to go on. This is just going to be another example.

Did you hear what the Jerry "The King" Lawler-looking Don Cooper told "Mully & Hanley in the Morning" on The SCORE today, Apologist? The White Sox pitching coach mentioned something about Jake Peavy having a sore back, but wouldn't make excuses regarding back-to-back duds for #44 in silver and black...

No. I'd prefer to look at AL Surpemacy over the fairly recent past in the World Series and All Star Games :bom:
