Dont mean to piggy back an ESPN article, but Jeff Bagwell is apparently hitting coach material? Dude had quite possibly the crouchiest, most unorthodox batting stance known to baseball. He probably could execute the helicopter bowl movement with flawless execution. Let's also not forget he was one of the best hitters during the steroid era, and I do believe there were questions about whether or not he was juicing due to how bad his body broke down towards the end of his career. Yes, this is how bad the Cubs season has become. Im typing out thoughts about the Astros hitting coach situation. |

Unless he is going to teach them how to shove a needle in their asses, I don't see how this helps. |

Beff Jagwell is a better choice as hitting coach than Mark McGwire would be. |

BA Jeff "Buff" Bagwell- .297 Mark "Sheamus" McGwire- .263 OBP Bags- .408 Mac- .394 Walks Bags- 1401 Mac- 1317 K Bags- 1558 Mac- 1596 And if this means anything, Bags played 16 seasons in the NL and Mac played 12 in the AL before playing his last 5 in the NL. |

This discussion was between 2 individuals. No where did I say that a high batting average during your playing days is the gold standard for a hitting coach. It probably helps, but its not the determining factor. |

So basically, they're two peas in the steroidal pod. They can both go fuck themselves. |

Someone else said he would be better and i was just figuring that career BA was the easiest and quickest way to come to that conclusion. Its not my conclusion as I think they both will suck at it and its just a pr move by both teams. |

Its also important to note that according to D Lee and Aram hitting coaches are only there to throw soft toss in the cage and bp and maybe, maybe work with a rookie. |
