Am I alone in thinking this baseball season has been a drag, Sox streak notwithstanding? (Or quite possibly, as a result of the Sox streak?) I'm just really bored by how it's all shaking out and my waning White Sox Optimism isn't helping matters.

2010 MLB Season Lowlights:

#6org
Strasburg looks human, and his career looks terminal
& Greinke ""
Heyward blows, too
AL East is at its most boring, if only because I feel like Yanks clinching is a foregone conclusion, and the fact that they had some rough stretches is going to be enough for it to be hailed as some kind of mighty comeback
San Diego just does not fucking compute at all
Peavy
Big Z
Starlin Castro bums me out because I think he'll just be Cubs Alexei
Miguel Cabrera would be fun to watch on any team other than the Tigers

Not everything sucks, though:

I love the Reds this year (sincerely, not just to be a Costanza-esque derpity-derp anti-Cubs blowhole)
Jays pitching is unreal
Tim Hudson
Pitching in general is unreal
Voey Jotto

Sports fans, how do you feel about this current baseball season? Experiencing a similar malaise or are you so fucking stoked for sticks, balls, n' leather?

This year has been maddening...Cards fucking pwn the Reds, but somehow can't handle the Cubs and Brewers...

2006 was the last time I was this let down by my favorite sport in the whole wide world, and look at how that season ended.

The thing is, with the MLB's efforts made to "clean up" the game, it's reverted back into more of an 80s-style brand of baseball. It's likely to result in more of a pitcher's game, and we've seen the inflated numbers decrease overall in the last couple of seasons. If the Cubs were doing better, I'd probably actually appreciate a more fundamentally-sound league this summer. It's strange to me, but the Cub have just sucked all of the joy out of the game for me this season, but I'm not really surprised that this is the case. I'll continue to watch, though...

I wonder if we will see another perfect game/ no hitter this season.

Good question, as they're not quite as rare as in years past, and that tells part of the story right there...

Not really. That joke would work if the Sox offense was asleep this series. It hasn't been. Its the pitching thats been awful.

Yeah, I should've pointed that out to FA - I just wanted to use the pic, though
