Macha was 157-167 in his two seasons in Milwaukee. How soon does Brenly get interviewed and hired?

Pirates fire John Russell and the Mets FINALLY fire Jerry Manuel and Omar Minaya

as an expos fan i despise omar minaya, he helped gut the team towards the end of its lifespan. i said the mets would never win with him and it looks like i was right.

now which GM will they hire to sign ~31-32 year old players to 4+ year big money contracts and then marvel over what a waste of money it was?

John Russell represents all that is wrong with the Pirates

That was one of the worst hires of all time.

i saw vladimir guerrero bat in the 2000 season. that was pretty much it. winning would have been nice, but then again, it's not everything. hell even having a team these days would be nice, but it's not quite everything. i grew up around cubs fans in the family and some white sox love too and rah rah rah, but it didn't make sense until i saw vlad bat and i'm like "that's my guy right there" and started to follow the expos and the box scores and then it just manifested from there. i now have to cry in my beer over the 1994 season when i didn't even give two shits about them, which is quite the responsibility i'll have you know.

ironically, the expos' battlecry slogan thingy was "vive les expos!"

I always liked their hats. And Vlad was definately a beast when he was healthy. Loved it when when people would try to test his arm.

I've got to think the firings of the Pirates' John Russell, the Mets' Jerry Manuel & the Brewers' Ken Macha today are only the beginning...I've got to believe that the Padres' Bud Black might be on the hot seat following his team's collapse after leading the National League West for the longest time until the end & I'm not so sure Kirk Gibson will get the interim tag removed with the Diamondbacks...

If the Cubs fire Hendry then thats their man

I think Brenly will definitely get a job. Milwaukee seems to really like him

The D'Bags are retaining Gibson as manager.

Bud Black's seat is nice and cool SHARK as he will probably win manager of the year after guiding his team to a 90 win season after all the 'experts' predicted a last place finish.

Watch the Brewers offer it to Sandberg while Hendry interviews Wedge for the 7th time.

FOXSports.com reported a week or 2 ago that Ryne Sandberg was on the short list to succeed the retiring Cito Gaston in Toronto. I'm not sure how serious the Blue Jays really are in Ryno...

Matthew Leach of MLB.com reports that the Cardinals have formally invited manager Tony La Russa back for the 2011 season.

I guessing the douchebag is going to accept and return to St Lou for 1 more season.

Lots of fans down here in Mizzourah are going to be disappointed to hear that. They are ready for some new blood.

Are they calling for the likes of "Pop" Warner to be promoted to big league manager? He wins quite a bit, but the cardinals are also notorious for drafting college players that tear up the minor leagues but never make it beyond the dreaded AAAA status.

Does it really matter who manages that team? Would any manager really contend there? What top notch manager would want that job?

Russell's resume at the time was horrid, even for the Pirates.

There are always up and comers ready for a shot with a Big league team, even the Pirates.
