The bottom of the article had an interesting nugget. John Buck close to signing an 18M/3 year deal with the marlins. Buck is a 30 year old catcher who had a career year last year for the Jays, but his career average is more like .240 14 HRs and 52 RBIs per year. Seems like overpaying to me. He's average on defense, throwing out 26% of runners. |

2007- -One of the best young sluggers in the game, Miggy Cabrera traded to Detroit for Cameron Maybin and Andrew Miller 2010- - Miller traded to Boston for relief journeyman - Maybin traded to SD for 2 relief journeymen - Uggla traded (to div. rival) for a relief prospect and a utility guy - 3/ $18MM for JOHN BUCK??
