Gil Meche has announced his retirement from the game of baseball. He would have earned $12M this season.

Great news for the Royals though I'm sure they would have liked to have known this a little earlier in the off season so they could have used that money to improve this years team and maybe convince Greinke to stay. Either way it's a classy move by Meche because he could have spent the entire year on the DL and collected his checks.

Fixed. Take the money and run with it... you know that the Royals and Pirates and their ilk all take money from MLB revenue sharing and profit off of putting out a bad product, so how can one derive class from not wanting to cost the team an extra $12mil that they're going to go waste on some other dumb shit over the next year or two?
