Josh Vitters yearly rankings:

2008: #43 Prospect
2009: #51 Prospect
2010: #70 Prospect
2011: Outside top 100

This looks like a make or break year for him.

The Royals have 9 players in the top 100 including 3 in the top 10 and 5 in the top 20. That team could be scary good in a couple/few years.

The Rays have 7 players in the top 100 and own 12 of the first 89 picks in this years draft. TB also had 5 picks in the first 2 rounds last season. This team is going to be a thorn in the sides of the Yanks and Red Sox for a long time. Now they need a new staduim so they can compete financially to really turn into a monster.

The Brewers are the only team with zero players in the top 100. Maybe they should adopt the 'all in' slogan.

Mike Trout should be #1 because he has a year of big time success at the professional level under his belt. Harper had only limited play in the Arizona fall league.

I disagree with Montero #3. He's going to be a big time hitter but he's a terrible catcher and wil be moved to 1B/DH which hurts his long term value.

Joe Benson should be higher than #100.

Josh Vitters......I totally forgot about that guy. Just checked his stats, not that great.

He really isn't developing like they hoped either offensively or defensively. His poor plate disipline (49 walks in 1178 PA's) is really hurting him. He's had some injuries but they certainly expected more than just 63 games played at double A after 4 years in the minors from the 3rd overall pick in the draft.

The Braves and Yankees are getting props for each having 6 prospects in the top 100. That is very misleading because half of those prospects (3 for each team) were international signees who the organizations simply threw the most money at. 'Hey you're good here's a giant bag of money come play for us'. Not much skill in that. More proof that MLB needs to institute an international draft.

Isn't this the story almost every year with KC?

Wow, the Brewers have 0 in the top 100. Wasn't it just a couple years ago they were being praised for their good farm system? Guess that trade for CC really worked out well.

Absolutely not. Baseball America said Kansas City has the best minor league system they have ever seen and that was before the Zack Greinke trade. The amount of talent thay have is almost disgusting. How they use that talent to improve the major league team is another story but if they don't completely fuck it up they could be the Tampa Bay Rays in a couple years.
