The GM's harshest statements in the lengthy interview came when co-host Ralph Barbieri noted that Posey had no desire to hear from Cousins.

Sabean did not back down when asked shortly thereafter if his comment was a bit harsh.
"No," Sabean said. "He chose to be a hero, in my mind. If that's his flash of fame, that's as good as it's going to get, pal. We'll have a long memory. We talked to (former Giants catcher) Mike Matheny about how this game works. You can't be that out-and-out overly aggressive.
Cousins was in tears about what happened to Posey and has repeatedly tried to reach him to no avail, and now this verbal diarrhea. I feel less bad about Posey being out if he's declining to talk to Cousins, and am glad that the entire thing most likely means no playoffs for the clown Sabean. Hope he gets fined too.
Sabean had shit to say about J.T. Snow plowing into Pudge at the end of the 2003 NLDS.
"Snow's take? "The play was clean,' he told The Chronicle. "Remember, too, that as soon as Buster went down on one knee, he was in a position to get hurt.'"
