Royals?

Enjoy the Tigers lineup when it features Cabrera, Fielder and Martinez in 2013. That's Yankee level free agency acquisitions.

There will be several times when Ken Harrelson is completely silent in the TV booth during White Sox/Tigers' games...

Doesn't it seem like the game is headed away from big, slow sluggers and toward a new era of pitching and defense? They're going to choke on those fat guys before it's over. Verlander is still their key.

If Miggy does indeed go to 3B, that is going to be a historically bad infield defense. Cabrera - Peralta - Rayburn - Fielder --

Verlander will hope to strike out 300 next year

Apparently you didn't see any of the Brewers games last year.

Actually, that's not what I heard. One scenario I've heard now that Prince Fielder will be at first base and Miguel Cabrera will shift to third in Detroit is that Brandon Inge (remember him?) would shift from third to shortstop with Jhonny Peralta shifting over to second base. I'm not sure if it's that much of an improvement either.

Speaking of second base for the Tigers, these are the guys who played that position last year...

25 Ryan Raburn
39 Ramon Santiago
9 Carlos Guillen*
29 Danny Worth
28 Will Rhymes*

*No longer on the Tigers' roster

I predict the Cubs will easily win the NL central now that Prince and Pujols are gone.

I'm just glad the Cubs didn't get him. I don't trust a 300 lb. vegetarian.

I hope the Tigers were able to put a weight clause in his contract.

Although it's subject to change, Tigers' manager Jim Leyland has wasted little time penciling 3B Miguel Cabrera for third in his lineup, followed by 1B Prince Fielder fourth & LF(?) Delmon Young fifth once the season begins. As for DH duties, Leyland seems to think it'll be a rotating one, although I wouldn't be shocked seeing all 3 of those names above taking turns.

SHARK I believe Miguel Cabrera is too fat to play 3rd base at this point in his career. What do you think?

They will never be able to squeeze those 900 pounds into a lineup together.

"We all knew the kid was obese," Cecil told the Tampa Bay Times. "He had a hard time running to first base without getting tired. You don't transform your body by yourself, you've got to have trainers, you've got to have people cooking for you, there's a lot of things that go into that. ...

"There's a lot of people that wish he would get over whatever he's got going on with his self."

Cecil also told the Times that Prince has no relationship with extended family, including ill grandparents, and he "hides behind" agent Scott Boras to avoid discussing family.

Even though owner Mike Ilitch has affection for both Cecil and Prince -- and would like to see the relationship repaired -- Cecil said he won't be visiting Comerica Park to see Prince play. If he were to, it could end up like a game in Atlanta he attended a few years ago; Cecil said that while waiting in the family area after the game, security personnel made him leave.

"I know what I did for my son, and he knows what I did for him," Cecil told the Tampa Bay Times. "I'm going to take the high road, stay away from it and not cause any friction. ... You play for the Tigers, I played for the Tigers, do your thing. ... If you want to stay stuck in whatever cocoon you're in, stay there, but I'm not going to join you."

Cecil Fielder played for the Tigers from 1990-96, hitting 245 home runs -- including a major league-leading 51 in 1990 and 44 in 1991. He led the American League in RBIs from 1990-92.
