Not based on his numbers. He is an offensive force. After him and Castro,I think you have to go with mostly pitching on both sides of town. |

You have an old man and an overrated kid as your best players on each team. This is a dark age in baseball that we are witnessing. |

Man, the top 10 best players in Chicago baseball...Paul Konerko has only gotten better offensively the last couple of years, and the White Sox first baseman isn't getting any younger. He might very well be a former Southsider later this season if the Sox aren't in contention. Honest. This is a hard list to compile, especially with players on both sides of town that many fans aren't exactly sold on long term and the body of work isn't that great. |

This list is hard to compile. There are guys like both second basemen, the White Sox' Gordon Beckham & the Cubs' Darwin Barney, for examples, that many fans simply aren't sold on over the long term. Right now, Beckham's got the better glove while Barney's got the better batting average. There are also guys that make you want to pull your hair out, such as the White Sox' Alexei Ramirez at shortstop. There are times where Alexei is among the best SS in the biz, but there are other times where his throws can drive fans absolutely nuts. Alfonso Soriano is beyond bad defensively in left field, but there are times where he can be so damn hot with the bat... |
