Doubleheaders. Have 1 or 2 a month and the season will end earlier than it did before.

You can really fuck a teams bullpen that way. Would need to schedule more off days to make up for the increased doubleheaders

How about realizing it's ridiculous to play 162 fucking games?

Increase the MLB rosters to allow two more relievers.

I think you guys just added payroll and raised ticket prices...

Did I mention the doubleheaders would be day/night because MLB wants to cash in on two different crowds?

You know though, 162 games results in an inferior product. Even 140 games would give players a chance to not kill themselves in a marathon season and only cost 11 games at home. For the Sox that's only 34k total tickets sold  :P

 You don't have to, just buy them off the suckers with season tickets for half price 3 minutes after the first pitch.

I'm old enough to remember when you had old-fashioned doubleheaders in Major League Baseball. Unfortunately, the owners want 2 different gates & I'm not so sure the MLBPA want the extra lifting, sort of speak anymore.

I wish "Commissioner" Allan H. Selig and the powers that be at Major League Baseball would reduce the schedule by about 20 games to make room for the extra layer of MLB Playoff games that'll start this season. Baseball shouldn't have to end in November like it's done on at least 2 recent occasions.

Part of that is that the TV networks want and have too much down time during the playoffs. Unless a team is waiting for a series to end, there is no reason they need 2 days off in a row in the playoffs.

Don't they usually get one day off a week?

Well, Frank, you're right about MLB's national broadcast partners FOX, TBS & ESPN Radio come playoff time.
