How much is this Ozzie tirade going to cost him $$ or the Marlins in community donations? Not trying to stereotype the hot headed stubborn latinos here, but if ozzie was mocked in the same way, he would probably not drop it as well. The Cuban community in Miami is not going to let this die with an apology. While I agree he will not be fired right away, if this gets some steam and gets out of hand, firing Ozzie could be cheaper. |

I agree. The White Sox did an amazing job in trading Ozzie at the right time. Good job Jerry and Kenny! |

Depending on the backlash I could see a suspension or possibly Ozzie stepping down. |

This could get really ugly, just as easy as it could go away. |

They're going to have to do something big, I don't believe an apology is going to be good enough. If this ends up dramatically hurting attendance at their new ballpark, you will see Ozzie step down. |

This is just silly. Punishing someone for expressing his/her beliefs is just all too common in sports. And I don't even think John Rocker should have ever been suspended. I would have thrown him out there every single game and have the people throw D batteries at him. Athletes are dumb. Being dumb is what makes them so funny when they speak. Why prevent that from happening? All this encourages is less athletes opening their mouth and expressing their stupid beliefs. |

No excuses. He doesn't have Kenny to blame anymore. I think Cowley had it backward. |

He's the manager though. Money talks. They're not going to let Ozzie come in and hurt sales. I just don't think an apology will be good enough. I could very well be wrong but this has the potential to be huge. |

Good to see all of Ozzies ex Cuban players running to his side. |

I feel bad for Oz, the man shouldn't have to apoligize for his opinion. People are such bitches nowadays. |

This isn't the first time Ozzie has had to do so. You'd think he would have learned not to constantly spout them. If I told everyone I know what I think of them, I'd undoubtedly be walking around with a broken nose. |

Consider the increased responsibility of his position as he now represents management. It's not quite a statment from a GM but field manager deserves increased accountability above a player in terms of personal conduct. |

The only accountability he should have is to the team's on field success. Nothing else matters. Dale Svuem could join Al Qaeda if it brought a world series to this town, and I wouldn't give a damn. |

That's you, and certainly there are other fans like you. But there are also many fans- most likely more fans- that prefer not to have a serial killer on their team even if the guy can throw up a triple double every night. |

Even if you aren't starving for fans like the Marlins are, you don't insult a group of people the way Ozzie did. The Marlins are begging for their support and Ozzie set them back. The manager isn't supposed to be a financially liability. |
