The strange viewing areas are a double-edges sword...sure, I can't see those teams on national coverage, but with the sports package, I get all those teams games without having to do the MLB Extra Innings package.

When I was in college in Dubuque, the Cubs, Sox, Brewers, Twins, Cardinals, and Royals were blacked out. 6 teams, fuck that.

The only problem with baseball viewing is on saturdays when Fox cock blocks nearly the entire nation from watching the game they want to watch.

Yep. Extra Innings doesn't carry any of those games either. I believe all other games are carried except for Saturday afternoon and Texas' Sunday night game.

The more sports leagues fight this kind of thing, the more people will move to illegal streams. If the Bulls or Cubs offered up a deal where I could pay $50-$100 to stream their games for the season on any of my devices, I would sign up for that. The League Passes are nice, but I don't think I would ever sign up for any of them unless I moved out of market from my team. There should be some sort of in-market deal offered. I think the leagues are just leaving money on the table by not offering them, and at the same time alienating a group of fans that are abandoning cable for good.

Factually speaking, FOX Sports only has a three-hour window for its "MLB Saturday Game of the Week". They used to have it from Noon-3p, and then 3-6p before starting up "Baseball Night in America" this month and 8 consecutive Saturday nights from 6-9p.

According to my DIRECTV program guide, "MLB on FOX" has already selected the game for the Chicago area Saturday night. That'll be the Tigers/Rays' game from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, FL.

I agree with this. mlb.tv is awesome, though I didn't buy it this year because both the Cubs and Sox were supposed to be bad.

Who really screws it up, intentionally, is the NFL. I'm not paying $350 for the 10 Bears games a year not shown on national television.

The worst blackout was the night I drank a fifth of Rumplemintz, with a Xanax/Vicodin chaser. The night started in Ottawa, IL and ended in a trailer/meth lab in Joplin, MO.
