The Orioles promoted top prospect Manny Machado. Machado was batting .266/.352/.438 with 11 homers and 59 RBI in 109 games at Double-A. Machado (20) was the 3rd overall pick in the 2010 draft behind Bryce Harper and Jameson Taillon.

I don't understand the reasoning behind this move. Machado is a SS but they're going to platoon him at 3B. He hasn't done anything to make people think he won't be a very good player but he's simply not ready and this could seriously stunt his development. I understand the Orioles are in a position they haven't been in YEARS but there are better moves to be made than to rush a Kid who is not ready to the majors.

I don't know who made the call on this one, SHARKY. It could have been Angelos, Dan Duquette or Buck Showalter. Maybe they put their lunkheads together and this is what came out.

Well, the Orioles have made quite a few questionable moves in recent years. They haven't been relevant since the infamous ALCS matchup in 1996 vs. the Yankees. The Jeffrey Maher fiasco?

Manny Machado is in the lineup batting 9th, sporting #13 at 3B as the Orioles start a weekend series with the Royals tonight in Baltimore.

Not sure what your eligibility rules are but he's a SS in my league. Probably shouldn't pick him up anyway considering he's going to platoon. Chris Johnson could be a nice pickup.

I got him in the 4th. My pitching fucking blows. I made a motion that we eliminate all pitching categories next year and just go with 10 offensive categories. Amazingly I got shot down.
