Got a guy that said that saying that he's hearing rumors that Verlander and Prince may have got caught with high levels of testosterone, too. |

Interesting. If true, something has changed in the way MLB is conducting tests. Maybe the Braun thing pissed some people off and now they are tightening up the testing process. What that tightening amounts to I am not sure. |

Hmmm...BALCO founder Victor Conte was a guest on Comcast SportsNet's "Chicago Tribune Live" last night. He wouldn't name any names, but Conte thinks there might be another big time MLB player that could get busted for failing such a test in the wake of the Giants' Melky Cabrera and now the A's Bartolo Colon getting caught. That being said, MLB should stiffen such penalties. The MLB drug policy lacks teeth unlike other sports. 50 games seems like nothing for a pitcher. |

The guy is obviously still giving guys roids, but is just more open about it. MLB has made sure to suspend these guys after the AS break to basically ensure they are done for the rest of the season and playoffs. Pretty crippling to their teams really. Unfortunately, it seems to punish the fans more than the player. |

How sad is it that we are right back to pre-steroid report speculation? I fucking hate this sport. Everyone is in play I guess. Trout? Sure, why not. |

It also makes me wonder about that day on Capitol Hill where Sammy Sosa, Rafael Palmeiro, Mark McGwire & Jose Canseco, if memory served, all testified in front of Congress. |

I don't see more capitol hill fun coming. I think they truly have improved testing. The numbers have been down for the most part. |

The Tigers' Miguel Cabrera just left their game vs. the Blue Jays this afternoon. Ramon Santiago now playing 3B. Hmmm... |

That would suck for my fantasy team. I'm gonna lose Strasburg for the playoffs, I'd be dead if I lost Verlander too. |

And along those lines, I heard something today that the Nationals appear hell bent on shutting Stephen Strasburg down, perhaps after the next couple of starts. |

Why do teams get to keep playing guys after they have been informed of a failed drug test? The Giants new about Cabrera so they traded for Pence. I would think knowingly playing a guy who is cheating is the same as cheating. Teams should have to vacate all wins that a player has played in after they were informed of a failed test. |

I think CBSSports.com's Gregg Doyel suggested something along those lines in a column right after Melky got busted by MLB for a failed drug test. He's so pissed about Melky, he thinks the Giants should pay the price for looking the other way... http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/story/1981 ... pay-for-it |

But Prince has always been big! Guys that have always been big are automatically immune from suspicion. It's been agreed. |

Unless its a pretty damn big purse to the winner. |

If they're going to take down Prince and Verlander, they'd better take down Pujols. And I'm not real certain about Alex Rios either. |
