Given the White Sox recent "slump", the AL Central is now a tie. We shall see who backs in... |

At this point, given the schedule, if the Tigers don't win it I think it is a bigger choke job than the Cubs 2004 failure. |

There are 2 reasons why the Tigers are in the position they're in. Besides Justin Verlander, the Tigers are getting quality starting pitching from others. Cases in point...Saturday when Doug Fister went wire-to-wire, a complete game 8-0 shutout of the Twins, and last night when Anibal Sanchez recorded another CG, a three-hit, 2-0 shutout of the Royals. Second, the Tigers are getting timely hitting and aren't relying on just the homer to score. More important, the Tigers seem to be gaining more & more momentum everytime they take the field. |

Cubs were up 2.5 with 7 to go. More specifically, they were up 3-0 on the Mets on a saturday going to the 9th about to extend their wild card lead to 3.5 |

I believe there are more Muslims in Michigan. The Tigers have the easier schedule but the Sox usually play well against teams they are supposed to lose to and suck against teams they should beat. Hopefully the Royals that play against the Sox will try to show up. |

There's a certain SCORE guy who's been talkin' a lot trash about the Tigers' defense. He'll be on at 6P to build a bridge to Indians/White Sox. You know who it is... |

LoHo's been critical of the Tigers' defense, which has been terrible for much of the season. John Feinstein also had less than great things to say about Detroit's defense in a "CBS Sports Minute" about a week to 10 days ago. |

That's momentum. The pressure is still on Detroit to win the AL Central, but baseball is a weird game. |

Momentum is only as good as your next day's starting pitcher. Go Hector! |

The Tigers recently rid themselves of Jeff Baker and now they are tied for 1st. Interesting....very interesting. |

Tonight, he makes only his 3rd career start vs. the Indians' Justin Masterson. Needless to say, it's the most important spot start of his young career. |

I don't believe any of that momentum shit. There are only moments in time, most of the narratives [which SHARK obviously reads a shitload of] are created by media types. |

Well, the pendulum appears to be swinging in the Tigers' favor. |

I'd say the pendulum is right in the middle since it is still a tie. |
