Trolling attempts have been as effective as both teams have played this season.

The Brand's trolling attempts aren't really useful because they lack the insight needed to actually be significant.

The (Twins, no I mean the Royals, no I mean the Indians) will finish second, pitchers who pitch a lot may get injured, and saying "Sux" really doesn't get the job done.

good dolphin brings up as many interesting points on the Cubs as any Cubs fan does.

It doesn't take a genius to predict that extremely likely scenarios will come to fruition, as the hooded one does. He pats himself on the back when a pitcher misses a start. "I told you he was gonna get hurt". Many of his predictions change midstream, when he realizes that they won't happen. Like last year. All year long, it was "The Tigers win the division by five games". When that wasn't going to happen, the prediction became, "I told you the Tigers would win the division". What about his math fails with Darkside? Haaarible.

Not as many as ANY Cubs fan, but he does at least go with some facts and reality.

RPB, you could do a great job trolling the SUX section. That's because you aren't two generations removed from Cro-Magnon Man. Ha, see what I did there? SUX! I'm hilarious. You know who likes funny stories? Mac does. I'm gonna call him now on my way to breaking the course record at the Club.

What Cubs fan has significantly more interesting points?

I wasn't saying that good dolphin knows more than anyone. I'm saying his posts bring up as many interesting points as any Cubs fan. I think that is accurate.

I don't spend a lot of time in the Cubs section, but I know there are some good Cubs fans here. Like RPB.

Steve is a dope. And dolphin is a good poster, but trolling is trolling. If we are talking Cubs vs Sox fan posters I think BigFan and Frank is the gold standard anyway.

I wasn't putting anyone down unless being as interesting as good dolphin is now considered a put down.

Check Dolphins phone, then we'll know.

Anyways, trolling is an art, takes time to learn and requires a dash of self-awareness. Some got it, some don't.

Steve is predictable but he doesn't bother me. I prefer his honesty. GD is usually good for a laugh and he isn't predictable outside of Cubs sections. This comparison is bad for a lot of reasons.

What Cubs fan has significantly more interesting points?

UMN
Old Man River
Turd Ferguson
CP guy
Big Chicagoan

Its not accurate.

You think he had good points, because most of the time he's trolling Cub fans and that interests you.

He has very few non trolling posts about the cubs

Trolling and making good points are not mutually exclusive.

I do have to laugh at UMN in there though. I guess you consider them good points if they are over the top love fests for anyone who is on his favorite team and drunk jokes about Don Cooper.

That is not the whole UMN story.

He is not a homer with the Cubs like the Packers and his knowledge of the minor leagues is unmatched by anyone on this board.

He certainly is a Cubs homer. He seems to have good knowledge of the minor league system, but like good dolphin, I think it's mostly pointless to pay attention to. I think I'm ok that I didn't follow the rise of Tyler Flowers. I can wait until he plays for the only team that really matters.

dolphin pays a lot of attention to minor leagues. Dont let him fool you. That's an act.

Its as pointless to follow as following NCAA teams with an eye on the NBA and NFL players

He seems pretty negative on Cub players to me. I havent seen much homerism there.

It is not an act.

You know the obvious differences between following NCAA teams in football and basketball, as does the rest of the sports viewing public...but who, besides Kiper, watches NCAA football with an eye on the pros.

I think many people watch NCAA because of the pros. That's why I watch.

I get caught up in the other teams but Im always looking for any NFL talent. Same with basketball.

It IS an act. You've posted several things about the minors, specific minor leaguers and their development all year

Your bits have run into eachother.

Gonna have to drop the "I dont waste my time on the minors" schtick because it just isnt true.

UMN is absolutely a Cubs homer in terms of how he posts about the White Sox.

I agree with everything else you said.

The change in hours has you loopy.

Those SEC stadiums aren't being filled by people looking to the next level. The overwhelming majority of college football and basketball fans are watching for the here and now. You are, as usual in life, an outlier.

I couldn't tell you the top MLB prospect in the country right now. I couldn't name one in the top 10. This is beyond silly.

I understand that you want to deny your obvious following of the minor leagues, but are you really saying that its rare for fans of pro sports to watch college with the intent of seeing the next pro stars?

Yes and you are wrong again.

I think most Alabama fans would watch a dog running around a stadium if it sported a crimson jersey and held the football in its mouth. The same is true across the country.

In the opposite, no I don't think NFL fans are watching college football to view their next pick. I think they watch because they like football.

How was Western Michigan's tv numbers with Fisher being the #2 pick.

You are absolutely crazy.

A BIG part of people watching college sports is previewing the pros. Its not even a discussion.

That's why Mock drafts and guys like Kiper exist.

yes, there are rabid fans of college only, but to act like watching for the pros is rare is crazy.

That is why you hear "he'll be playing on sundays" and the spotlight on that player in virtually EVERY major college football broadcast

You think Colts fans werent watching Stanford games with Andrew Luck?

How bout the rise of RG3? Was that all about the tradition of Baylor football? Or was it because he was going to be a high pick?

How bout Michael Crabtree? Just the ol' Texas Tech faithful watching those games?

You are overstating it. Yes, clearly the NFL prospects of a player can come in to play, but it's one of many themes that are talked about. You get much more Heisman talk than you do pro potential. It's a little different in the bowls because the bowls are often like the last game tape that big time players will do.

Also, pro prospects are normally used as a way to describe the strength of the teams. For instance, Alabama has 8 players who will be playing on Sunday or as a way to describe how well they recruit like how Alabama has pro prospects currently in backup roles.

Anyone who watches college sports primarily to "scout" future NFL players is wasting their time unless they are being paid to do so. What really matter is the stuff that happens after the season anyways.
