The Phillies announced via press release that they have released Carlos Zambrano from their Triple-A affiliate.

Zambrano, 32, had been nursing a shoulder injury. The Phillies said they decided that his chances of rehabbing and pitching competitively for the major league club were slim.

Sad. I always thought he was gonna put it together and be great.

Score golf outing, a long time ago, was at a tee box, course backed up and Jimmy Piersall was there holding court. I think it was Zambranos rookie year, Prior and Wood are set as #1 and #2, Piersall says this guy will be the best of the 3, he throws heavy and everything is down. Ground ball machine.
