Not a World Series winner.

Not a major market team.

It's the team on pace to have the worst season in MLB history. 2013 Houston Astros

Have to disagree with Major Market statement, I think Houston is the 4th largest market in the country.

The Astros probably have a lot of goodwill with their fans. They were good for a looooong time.

Bulls best 5 season in terms of $$$ are the 5 years after Jordan left. Lowest payroll in the game and the 2nd largest attendance $$$'s. Good combo for owner

However, you can only do that for so long.

Hell Krause had to sign guys and overpay just to hit the league minimum!

The Astros are on pace to rake in an estimated $99 million in operating income this season. That is nearly as much as the estimated operating income of the previous six World Series championship teams — combined.

Add another one to the list of teams that needs to tank for years in order to compete with the White Sox.
