Why the hell did he apologize? I don't think he did anything wrong. Brian McCann can kiss Jose's ass for his comments. Your teammates started it, you tubby ass backstop, and did the exact same HR admiring as Jose.

I love it. I'm a huge fan of the home run stare down. Griffey was probably the best.

I can't believe anyone is getting angry about a guy admiring a homer in this day and age. That bird flew a long time ago. Although, it is particularly douchey coming from a pitcher who I assume doesn't like it being done to him. But maybe these young guys just see it as part of the game.

Just like the NFL gives their name to video games that have excessive celebration, every time you hit a homerun in The Show you do some douche move

My guy in the show just drops his bat and runs around the bases.

Did you see what happened? A Braves player did this to him first, then another player (who was 0-3) was running his mouth to Fernandez, saying his fastball wasn't shit. This was simply Fernandez giving it right back to Atlanta, then McCann took the holier than thou approach.

Like I said, it seems pretty silly to get upset at it in an era when guys take about fifteen minutes to circle the bases.

It will slow down but almost every time my batter (lh) takes kind of a skip step and starts running. He doesn't arrogantly flip the bat like bonds and stand there.

Also, catchers are generally douchebags. They interact with the other players more than anyone else. McCann probably thought he was going to be like Fisk when he yelled at Deion Sanders and got hailed for "teaching baseball 'the right way'".

Oh man, that and Bobby Cox taking out Andruw is old school white guy's favorite two things ever.

Wonder if Deion ever let Fisk look at his World Series ring?

Yeah, and that bush league nonsense when Piniella ran out to first to talk to Mike Cameron in the playoffs vs. the White Sox. When a black or Hispanic makes a spectacle of himself, he's a hot-dogging. When an old white guys does it, it's "the right way".

Was Reggie Jackson the first?

Gattis admired one in the box earlier in the game. Fernandez was jawing with him as he rounded the bases. Chris Johnson chimed in from the on deck circle... apparently Johnson and Fernandez had something from earlier in the year. After Fernandez' HR, as he rounded third, he spit near third base.

Image

By the time he got to the plate, the Braves bench had cleared. The Braves (who are fast becoming one of my more hated franchises) apparently take exception to young guys showboating.. they had thrown at Bryce Harper repeatedly in a game earlier in the year.

Didn't Johnson start the spitting thing earlier in the game? That's what Reynolds said on MLB Network. They were in full support of Fernandez as well.

BREAKING NEWS

There may have been a second spitter

Now that I have seen the replays that was kind of awesome from Fernandez aside from the base spitting. Johnson was the one causing all that shit. The clip of him sprinting to home plate when the benches cleared and then getting completely behind the umpire to hide was awesome....and then talking shit from behind the umpire.

Fernandez also had a decent post game apology for it.

All the steroids made it so he couldn't see the ball leaving the park. He was actually looking for it.

Young Douchebag wants to believe Griffey Jr. was clean, but there's just no way.

Glad you can admit it most Griffey fans are delusional. Also Young Douchebag sounds like he should be putting a verse on the new 2 Chainz track
