The Reds vs The Cards would be a fun series considering all the bad blood between the 2 teams over the last few years. But I hope the Pirates win, it would be nice seeing them in a full playoff series. And I think they can take out the Cardinals. |

There should be times when you can assume a double play and that was one of those times. The pitcher did his job by inducing a perfect double play ball but Phillips fucked it up. A run scored that should have been prevented and the pitcher has to face extra hitters. Should be a team error and an unearned run. |

There were roughly 3,750 grounded into double plays this season in major league baseball. So why can't you assume a double play? It's obviously not a rare occurence. The pitcher is being penalized for a play that should have been made. The official scorer should start hangin an error on an infielder who doesn't turn a double play. |
