I love when Jerry talks about getting rid of LaRussa and tells everyone how it was a good move for the Sox and Tony? No doubt LaRussa is a pud, but he is still a great manager and has the numbers to back it up he is one of the great managers of all time. Not only the wins, because part of that is longevity, but the postseason success his teams have had. 3 World Series, 3 Pennants and 10+ first place finishes in 30 years. Because I know a certain manager who likes to compare himself to LaRussa, who has managed for 20 years and has 1 Pennant to show for it, and claims to be one of the major league great managers, just ask him. You might know him as the guy who sat on the bench when the Cubs started falling apart in 2003. |
