In the fan column,a reader writes in on how he loves reading baseball boxscores. He said it can tell a whole game. He refers to a game boxscore printed in BD the previous issue. He asked if Donnie Moore faced Bill Buckner in that game. The editor goes on to explain that they both played for the same team. Also they dedicate a "fun" question & answer page to Gordon Beckham of all people! Finally,In the "Game I'll Never Forget" monthly article they talk to Rick Monday. The game of course is the famous "Flag Saving Game". The Cubs SP that day? Steve Stone. The article doesn't even print the pic of Monday saving the flag! Time to stop getting Baseball Digest. |

As a little kid these digests were great. Couldn't get enough of the season previews and outlooks. All the transactions I could catch up on. It also brings back memories of how my 12 year old self was pumped for The National daily paper. |
